Wednesday War Wound

Well today was eventful to say the least.
- 1 hr. before I was to leave for my Dr.'s appt. the babysitter's mom calls and babysitter is sick. I hold no grudge against her. She is getting ready to have her gallbladder taken out. I have felt her pain. She was definitely excused!
- So the girls went with since it was so last minute. They did awesome. Or so I hear. They got to spend time in one of the office's with my sweet client who works there. They both came home with little purse bags (that of course have the name of a birth control pill on the side!) (but hey they don't know! we'll just play with the bags at home!!!!) And somehow in the bags they got awesome lip gloss and (cherry and orange flavors) and rolls and rolls of paper out of one of their office calculators.
-Placenta Previa is gone!!!! Yeah!!! That made the day right there. Although I still have big decisions to make. C-section or VBAC(vaginal birth after c-section)? My doctor wants me to choose. My first delivery was natural but my second was c-section since Gentry went breach. So he says I am a good candidate for the vbac if that's what I choose. There is a risk of uteran rupture that you run with the vbac though. Your scar from your previous c-section/sections is a weak part in the uterus that can tear during labor. Although he says this is a 1% chance. But he did do a delivery the other day where it happened to the mother. Won't go into detail for my mother's sake, but it sounds and is horrible.
So I have a week of contemplation. I will take input in the comments section!
- Found out after we got home from my appt. that our sweet neighbor Jim who we love and adore had a stroke this morning. The ambulance must have come right after we left. However they knew right away what was happening and had him to the hospital receiving care in under an hour from his first signs. Hopefully he will be able to make a full recovery. Only time will tell. His wonderfully sweet wife Betty is currently dealing with lung cancer (never smoked a day in her life). Our girls absolutely love and adore both Jim and Betty and vice-versa. They praise our girls constantly on how beautiful, smart and well behaved they are. They are the kind of neighbors everyone dreams about. They are in their early 70's and just celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on Monday. So if you could please pray for them I am sure they would be ever so grateful.
-WELL ONTO OUR LOVELY PICTURE HERE................

We decided to cap off the day with a trip to the doctor's office....again. This time the girls' doctor's office. Thank the Lord they are open til 8pm. Miss Kennedy had a "run in" with our coffee table. The thing is our coffee table isn't even really a coffee table and has no sharp edges. I am really not sure how this happened. I was scrubbing the toilet like every mother does at supper time. And while I was scrubbing Kennedy is running the big circle around our house at warp speed. So for the seventeen thousandth time I yell "QUIT RUNNING". Pretty soon I here a boom and then screaming. Being the mother of the year I yell "If you got hurt I don't feel sorry for you b/c I have warned you a million times!" Kennedy is then right behind me and yells/bawls "But I am bleeding". So I turn around..........to see blood EVERYWHERE. It was running down her whole entire face and neck. Just gushing. Head wound. Hello. And immediately I feel awful. I get her cleaned up and actually got the bleeding to stop! But it looks as if she's been stabbed and I knew we were going to need "further care". So 5 min later at 7:00 HER dad walks through the door just getting home from work and Kennedy and I walk out.

She ended up getting two shots to deaden it and 3 stitches! But the girl...did...awesome. She did not shed one tear while they were doing it. In fact when they were all done sewing her up she asked the Dr. "When do I have to have that shot?" He laughed and said "All done my dear". I was sooooo stinking proud of her and how she handled herself. So of course we hit up her faaaaavorite place for some ice cream afterwards.........SONIC!!!

Well it's late. So I am calling it a night. Sorry to be so long winded. But I had to share.

  1. I vote VBAC--I had a good friend that just had one and the took great care and precaution and she had a wonderful experience! With 2 little ones, you will recover faster and be up and around sooner--that is my vote--and I love Emery's middle name and WOW to Kennedy's eye!
