Another One!

As Promised another post......in less than a week!
Can't stop me now folks
WooWee I'm on a Roll!!!!

Last week we had some visitors!!! Yea!!
It's always super exciting to have visitors when you live away from all of your family.
My Sister-in-law and our nephew Dylan came to our house on wednesday.

It was a freakishly warm day for Feb. in KS.
So we took them to our favorite park....after eating at Wendy's
w/ 4 small children 5 and under.
The youngest of which pooped her diaper and blew through her whole outfit.
It was really joyous too b/c Wendy's didn't have their a.c. on.
And when it's 75degrees out w/ an 30mph wind things warm up fast in a fast food joint.
For anyone that had to eat by us in Wendy's.......I am so sorry!

So off to the park

i got a lot of great pictures of Miss Emery and her Aunt Ann (they share their bday!)

Miss G
I believe Dylan is trying to give the peace sign and Kennedy of course is shooting the I love you :)
Gentry waving at Aunt Ann and Emery from the top of the castle
Mr. Dylan does not like to have his picture taken......but i caught him!

We really had a great time.
And we were all pooped and sweaty when it was over.
Thanks for coming to see us Ann and Dylan!

Absent

It's been nearly 2 weeks since I have blogged.
I think I am suffering from "Blog Block" or "Blog Blues" or maybe it's called being a mother of three girls ages 5 and under, that also works part time,...is behind on everything and had a house full of sickos last week.

We are "working" on cereal.
Emery has made significant improvement from these pictures 2 weeks ago.
However, she's still not a huge fan.
She is recovering from a severe respiratory infection along with her big sis Gentry.
Both girls were on steroids, antibiotics and breathing treatments.
She ran a temp of 102.5 for 3 days and had the worst barking cough for nearly a week.
This week has been much more bearable....especially when it comes to sleeping! Whew.

You would never be able to tell that she doesn't like it.
It didn't help that i mixed it a little too thick the first time and she gagged.
You would think with this being my third child that i could get it right this time.......you would think.
I've got the ratio down now.  No concerns.

I AM VOWING TO YOU RIGHT NOW THAT THIS WEEK I AM GOING TO DO BETTER ABOUT POSTING.....PROMISE.

So stay tuned for more pics
The bedroom project is nearly complete.
Yes, i know it has taken forever.
As I have expressed to you  in posts before..I..HAVE..NO..TIME. but you are going to LOVE IT!
And if not, I don't care because I LOVE IT and you all know in the end that's all that really matters....that Mamma's happy.

We also had some visitors this week. We were able to have an awesome day at the park yesterday with them.  It was actually almost ..dare i say..HOT! And enjoyable. But then we woke up today to freezing cold.  Anyway.....CHECK BACK IN REAL SOON!

You Won't Believe This

WARNING: This post contains graphic pictures that may cause you to feel naseous and say the words OH MY GOD.

Thursday evenings Dana picks the girls up from daycare b/c I work late.  They always make waffles or pancakes. It's their favorite.  And they always get to help.  It's their fun time w/ Dad.

Last night at work i get a phone call from the hubby
It goes like this

ME: Hello
HUBS: Hi, ummm something happened.  It's kind of bad. You might freak out.
ME: Ooookkkk.......to who
HUBS: Gentry.....it's her .......hair
ME: Did she cut it again?
HUBS: No, that would be better.  We were making pancakes and ummm
ME: OMG SHE GOT IT CAUGHT IN THE MIXER DIDN'T SHE
HUBS: YES.....only it didn't get caught......it ripped it out.
ME: ARE YOU SERIOUS? HOW MUCH? IS SHE OK? OMG.
HUBS: It's a lot.  I turned around to put the measuring spoon away.  When I turned back. Her head was against the mixer. I couldn't figure out what she was doing.  Then she screams and pulls her head up and I see a huge wad of hair in the mixer. It's bad.  She's bald. But she literally only cried for a couple of minutes and then she seemed to be just fine.
ME: Oh my poor baby. Ok. Will we be able to cover it up?
HUBS: Maybe.
ME: Ok. I Need to start this haircut that's waiting on me. Thanks for warning me.  See you as soon as I can.
 This beautiful long hair.......
Plus this Kitchen Aid Mixer
EQUALS........Brace Yourself.......THIS...
  AND THIS.........
I cried.  I'm not just saying I cried.  I really cried. I cried for my poor baby and the pain this mixer must have inflicted upon her poor little head.  I cried because she now has a huge bald spot. I cried for her beautiful hair. I cried for me. Her mother. Her hairdresser.

We had a rule in our house that the girls' hair had to be clipped back when cooking (but you know what they say about rules...they are meant to be broken). But that rule has now been revised to......THE GIRLS CAN NOT HELP WITH THE MIXER TIL AT LEAST AGE 7. And I am pretty sure this rule will be followed.

Insanity

We feel CRAZY!
YES we do!
We feel CRAZY
how about you?

Thursday was the first day we left the house since after church on Sunday due to our insane cold temperatures, snow and wind.
This picture pretty much says it all.

I could write a novel on all the things running through my head right now
like:
why won't won't that stupid washing machine put the clothes into the dryer when it's done
and
why won't that lovely dryer fold all those tiny panties and socks for me

i clean and i clean and 2hrs later.......it looks like a dump
so why do i bother
b/c i am pretty sure 5 out of 7 days i have o.c.d. and it makes me crazy

but then i have a moment where time seems to stand still
but the growth of my children does not
i can see them growing before my eyes, seriously
so then all i can think is "Oh just screw it!" (bad words mommy)
screw all this house work, laundry and every other insane thing closing in on me
and take a moment with your children
like this........
to make cookies w/ your middle child
in the morning
still in her pajamas
while sister is at school
 slippers too
i'm in the middle of a makeover
it's taking a while
no it's not on myself
even though it probably should be

no that wall is not green any more!
and the bedroom does not normally look this hideous
everything is in the middle of the room so i can work around it
so we have been sleeping in our spare bed
i've been painting the trim
along w/ about everything else in the room
can't wait to show you the finished product!

in the mean time
i feel exhausted
i want beauty sleep
like this
 Aaaahhhh
so precious
thank you Lord
for these precious
healthy
beautiful
children
and their wonderful father too
who is so patient with them
and me :)
thank you for our health
and of course my sanity
