This & That

This is my absolute favorite magazine. Hands down, no questions asked. It only comes out 4 times a year. Once per season. And it is worth every $5.99 that I spend. I could flip through it 500 times and see something new every time. I NEVER throw any of them away. Picked my new one up the other day! And as always it is everything I dreamed of.

Today was summer reading program @ the library. Every Tuesday morning. Today was all about Spongebob. Barf. My girls have seriously never seen one episode of this show. Thank the Lord. That's probably why they thought their project was sooo cool. They got to color a picture of the man himself......and then glue it to a sponge....how clever. But they enjoyed it and we had a fun morning!

The girls for some demented reason think the greatest thing ever is when Mom gets in the pool with them. So once in a while the whale climbs in! Today was one of those days. And let me tell ya the water felt soooooo good.

Check out those cute tan lines. She says she's "suntanning". I don't know who taught her to suntan naked, but it sure was NOT her mamma!

I can "yell" (i don't do that of course) at this kid til I am blue in the face about sitting on the dish washer door. At least this time I found her being productive!

Well as promised we made it to the fireworks stand tonight. The girls were all worked up. Couldn't ....wait...they said. We got home with our sack full of stuff. Gentry threw one popper/snapper on the cement......it popped....and she started bawling. Then Daddy lit a loud fire cracker. She freaked out, started back pedaling, hit the arm of the wheel barrow, and fell over backwards head first on to the porch. We sure started off with a BANG!!!!......oh and lots of bawling too.

Reading Session 101

We have been "trying" to visit the library every tuesday this summer for the summer reading program. To say Kennedy loves books would be a huge understatement. And her newest thing is "reading" to her sister. No, our 4 year old can not read books yet on her own. But you would never know by this video. Make sure you turn the volume up b/c she didn't know I was filming her so her voice is kind of soft! This just might be the cutest thing ever!!!!

Have been asking for smores. So mommy made a point to pick up the goods after work saturday.

Above they are watching the fire and Gentry of course is plugging her ears b/c she hates the popping noise. I think she is afraid it will explode or something? She knows who built the fire.......her father.......need we say more? She is a smart girl! ;)

Daddy is the roaster. He really roasted these poor marshmallows. But that's how I like them!

Tim McGraw Concert

Dana and I had one awesome date night friday night! We got to go to the Tim Mcgraw Concert at the new Intrust Bank Arena. Which seats 15,000 people!!! We had been excited about this for quite awhile. And we had even more fun than we could have imagined!!! Check it out!!!

I didn't bring my Canon camera b/c I didn't think they would let me in with it. But then I saw a lady in the bathroom with my exact camera. Grrr. Next time I will know (We have 3 tickets on the floor to see Carrie Underwood late Oct. We are taking Kennedy!!! She of course doesn't know yet though. So shhhhhh!). So all of these are off of our old little camera.

When we got to our seats and sat down and this is what we saw.......we knew we had some of the best seats in the house!!! And boy did it prove to be true! We were in row H. And our seats were next to the runway that went out into the crowd!

The view behind us 30 min before the concert started. I think 3/4 of the arena filled up in the last 10 minutes.

Love and Theft was the first opening act. I am a fan of them. Most people have heard several songs that they sing on the radio but don't realize that they sing them.

Lady Antebellum!!!! They were awesome. Sounded just as good live as when you are listening to their c.d. I got to touch both male lead singer's hand!!!!

I actually took this picture myself. Turned out way better than the one the drunk girl in front of us took of us with our camera!

This was his fiddle player. He was sooo good. And he was nice enough to take a picture for the little boy two rows up from us with his game boy (or whatever it was). The boy was soooo excited.


I actually ended up getting to touch Tim's hand 3 times!!!! Too cool.

Party Hardy

Last Saturday was our good friend's daughter Maddison's 4th birthday. So we spent the afternoon partying. They had the best time in so many ways.

She had more than enough help from my two girls opening her gifts. She is definately one sweet girl. She didn't even seem to care :)

And Miss Gentry.......well she's been acting.......her age lately. She was bawling b/c she wanted milk not water. We have a saying around here..."You get what ya get and you don't throw a fit!". She doesn't like it much.

These Days

This post is about lots of things. So I guess I will start with yesterday's Dr.'s appt. Baby Emery's heartbeat is still staying around 160 beats. When we listened to it at the doctor Gentry smiles and says "Emery is grumbling". Everything seems to be looking good so far.
-I won't have my placenta checked until around 32-34 weeks. So I have a little ways to go on that.
-I have been having some lovely pain on my right side of my upper rib cage. And issues with food. So I will be having a sonogram to find out if I have a gall stone or gall bladder issue (which run in my Dad's family). If it does turn out to be my g.b. that is causing this then we will try to control it through diet through the rest of the pregnancy and I will have it removed sometime after.
-If it's not g.b. problems then I will probably be doing some physical therapy.

Well enough of that fun discussion and on to the next.

I am up to my neck in laundry. The laundry fairy is feeling....well...not in the mood. If there was ever one thing that I could pay someone to do for me. It would totally be my laundry. But I guess I better get over that sometime real soon. B/c my loads will only be increasing before long.


The girls have been enjoying this warmer weather in their pool. I literally have to drag them out.


She actually happened to be my "poser" yesterday! Doesn't happen too often these days.

What is it with kids and cups? You buy them these cool pool toys and what do they play with?....the cup.




We have been eating all of our meals outside in the evenings. I find myself sliding down in the chair at the end of the meal and just relaxing while staring up at the sky. Our umbrella was the best $30 clearance item I have ever spent at Lowe's...5 years ago.

These cherries are seriously ....the....best....ever. My friend's mother has a cherry tree in her yard. While out for a walk the other night she asked if we might like to have some. We just had to pick 'em. So after our walk Dana went back to pick. You can pop these babies right in to your mouth and they are peeerfect. Not too tart either. So since my hubs desires homemade pie more than you could imagine he pitted them all for me!

I am perfecting this whole crust thing much better than last year. But I still have some work to do on my pinching technique. I never leave enough on the edges. My mother is a pro at this. So I guess I should ask for a lesson.

These cool little things protect your crust from getting too brown in the oven. My mom gave them to me for Christmas and let me tell ya they work like a champ! Thanks mom :)

The pie came out of the oven late. So we didn't get to eat any last night. But when I got up this morning this is what I found. Guess what honey dearest had for breakfast? But I would be lying if I said I didn't have any either!

We probably have enough cherries to make at least 4 more pies. Plus a whole other bucket full of cherries that were picked sooner for canning purposes. So I am going to take a stab at canning and make some jelly. I promise nothing but hope for the best!
