It's been a rough week....
If it wasn't for these little boogers
I'm not sure we would have made it
A week ago tomorrow life changed
not for the better
My Dad.....
One of the most influential people in my life
and My Friend
was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer

I have made several trips home since Thursday to be with my family.
We all feel as if we are living some kind of nightmare
Everyday we wake up thinking Please let it not be true Lord.

We are praying continually.
And got some good news to go off of last evening.
He had a CT scan yesterday morning.
It showed the cancer has not spread.
And it is not in his Lymph Nodes.

He meets w/ a Pancreatic Surgeon on Monday in St. Louis.
He is supposed to be the best in the U.S.
He will review the scans.
And probably set up an appt. for another more invasive scope
to be done w/ him there in St. Louis.
And then we will go from there.
Surgery will depend on what the Dr. has to say after reviewing
everything.

We believe in God.
We know he has a plan.
We believe in Miracles.
We have Faith & Hope
And we are Praying endlessly

We can't imagine life with out him
We don't want to
And we are going to fight for him
AS HARD AS WE CAN

Lighter notes of the weekend

while back home we also celebrated my cousin Taylor's
14th birthday.
I can't believe how mature and grown up my "little" cousin has become.
She is my only girl cousin on my Dad's side of the family.
So, she is very precious to me.
Gentry, Taylor and Kennedy
Happy Birthday Taylor!

Still Loving Sweet Potatoes!!!!

Hanging out in Biggest Sister's Room

And hanging w/ Woody
And last week while the older 2 were gone for a few days I made this wreath!
It cost me $9 to make the whole thing.
I thought it might look a little cheesy or tacky
since i was using the plastic eggs
But I am really happy w/ how it turned out.
The girls think it's great.
It was the first thing they noticed when they came home.
And Gentry asked if there was candy in the eggs

I will be making more in depth posts about my Dad in the days to come.
Our heads are still spinning and we still have a lot more to find out.
Please Pray for him :)
Thank you to all of you who have been helping me out.
Whether it be through a wonderful thoughtful gift
a card
watching my kids
texts
hugs
kind words
Facebook
EVERYTHING
THANK YOU
I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH

This Week

The older 2 girls left Sunday morning to go stay with Dana's parents for a few days.
It's their annual spring break trip.
They returned home late this afternoon.
The time while they were gone was very nice.
A needed break you could say.
Emery & Mommy had some good quality time.
Got some good stress free shopping in!
And ate out with Daddy several times!
It was Peaceful!
But we definitely missed the little bugers!
It's nice to have them home.
Back to chaos & tons of noise.

These are all pics off of my phone.
So the quality may not be the best.

This first pic was our lunch date w/ Dana on Monday.
I think it's sooo cute!
Emery is already checking her Dad's wallet!!!! Ha!
There's not any left in there.....
B/c we had just come from the gas station.
My gas light had been on.
So I was running on fumes.
This is what I drive.
And this is what it cost to fill it up.....
Yeah I know....
Total Gas Hog
However
Our previous vehicle was a Ford Explorer.
And it got slightly worse gas mileage.
So we figured if we were going to get crappy gas mileage then we may as well get it in something bigger.
When you have 3 kids in car seats you are pretty limited as to what you can drive.
When we bought it over a year and a half ago we could fill the whole thing up for fifty some dollars.
It's really depressing.
You would think they would at least have medicated wipes for you at the pump.
You know......
For the burn you are left with.

Ok moving on.....
This girl is really loving her baby food!
Some days we get it in the mouth a little better than others!!!
Check out those eyes!!!
I get lost in them all the time.
I just hope I have longer than I think before a boy is getting lost in them!

Oh and also
Dear Mother Nature,
LAY OFF THE WIND
YOU HAVE RUINED 4 CONSECUTIVE DAYS NOW
I fully realize I live in KS
But Sheeesh!
Enough Already.
Thanks.

Around Here

Not a lot going on around here
Really only one major milestone

We have a sitter!
Our 6 month old beauty can now officially sit on her own for extended periods.

She is really enjoying playing w/ her toys & Mommy's magazines!
I also may be training her ;)
She's a girl after her mother's heart.

Here is some footage of the little pro!
You can hear Gentry's nebulizer going in the back ground the whole time and i think she's talking under her mask too :)

You also get a little glimpse of our new furniture.  It got delivered 2 wks ago. We decided to go w/ Lazy Boy this time.  In hopes that we would get some furniture that would hold up a little better than our last couch & love seat. So we picked the style, fabric and color of furniture and then ordered it. After 8 wks of waiting if FINALLY got delivered. We love it....EXCEPT...........I am more than positive the furniture is not the color i picked out. Something will hopefully be getting figured out with that. So PLEASE ignore how my new furniture clashes w/ my wall paint so "nicely".  Gggrrrrr!

Here is another video
I had to show you all how happy this little girl is when she wakes up.
Sooo Happy!  All the time.
You can also see how nicely her hair is growing in...down the middle that is.
The sides seem to be having some growth issues. Hopefully that will level out sooner than later!!!

So we've covered about everything now.
Except the weather.
OH THE WEATHER!
It's been great!
And these warm temperatures have our trees sprouting these nasty seeds all over.
We call them helicopters.
I'm not sure what the technical name is.
Soon these will be flying through the air and covering our flower beds, porch & yard.
There is something slightly cool about them.
But mostly I just really hate them.

2nd Post Today!

This is actually my second post today
But this is too exciting not to share!

Kennedy has been saying for a while now that she wants her hair cut.
One of her little friends got her hair cut a few weeks ago.
So then she REALLY wanted her hair cut.

I've always told myself that i wouldn't make my girls keep their hair long for "me". If they wanted it cut then i would cut it despite what my feeling might be.

However I had been thinking for awhile that Kennedy's hair would look really cute short.
So tonight was the night.
She was ready.
And i guess i was too b/c i happened to have my scissors at home

Here are the before and afters!!!!
She's give you all the Rock On sign!!!
This is her latest thing. She does it A LOT.
Here she is right before the BIG cut!
And here she is after
Giving you her spunky face to go w/ her new spunky look!
Sooooooooo cute!!!
She Loves It!
It was a little hard for her Dad though.
That is until bath time.
Then he found out how totally awesome picking our short hair is!!!!

Glad It's Over

Last week was one of those weeks
...you know
the ones from down under

we seemed to have a problem w/ keeping our gum in our mouths last week
both girls
Kennedy managed to get gum ground in to the back of her jeans all down her pant leg
No pictures of that one....darn
but i did get it out w/ this really awesome pretreat in the wash

And then there was Gentry........
Our little accident prone Gentry
If anything is going to happen
It will be to her
Do you see that? Oh I am sure you do...
My child who almost always takes a good nap woke up screaming about 20 minutes into it
So i went to check on her
She forgot to spit her gum out
I forgot to make her spit her gum out
And guess where it ended up?
Oh you know it........
Her hair.
And if you follow my blog at all this should come as no surprise to you
I may have freaked....
And may have used the words "We are going to have to cut it"
She totally falls apart whenever i mention cutting her hair
as does her father
she DOES NOT want her hair cut
Which i know is amazing considering all the things that have happened to her hair lately
You can see the devastation she thinks she is about to encounter on her face
BUT.......thanks to good ole' Miracle Whip
No scissors had to be involved
It worked like a dream.....REALLY!

There were a few things in the week that kept my head afloat
Like my tulips
They are coming up everywhere
And growing inches by the day!

We made an unplanned trip back home for a funeral last weekend
one of our good friends' father had passed of an unexpected heart attack

When we headed back last evening we were excited
Excited to drive home in some light thanks to the time change!

But as we walked out of the door of my in-laws it started snowing
Weird
We had no idea
And by the time we were 10 miles outside of town it started to get bad
I know this picture doesn't make it look to bad
But then in about 2 more miles time it turned to this....
When we got about 15 miles out of town we came up on a car in the ditch
It had just happened
So we stopped
Dana went to talk to her

God works in such funny ways
It happened to be the pastor that performed Dana's uncle's funeral back in November
Dana was a Paul Bearer
He remembered her, she remembered him,
She was taking her grand kids back home to Salina
We got her pulled out
She was thankful & turned around to head back home

Our usual 2hr & 45 min trip took......
4 HOURS!!!!
But we made it home safely thank the Lord
We saw a near head on collision
A jeep that had hit a power pole
And a few others that made a ride through the ditch
It was such a freak storm
And such a surprise

It is supposed to be in the 60's & 70's this week
Thank the Lord

And by the way it has been almost 6 days since I have had sweets!!!
Only 34 days to go
Come on Easter!!!

Not Much

Miss Gentry is on injury number 427.......at least
this child is so accident prone
here's what she's looked like this week
Emery is enjoying sweet potatoes and cereal quite nicely!
And Kennedy is becoming quite the colorist
she now officially colors like an adult
she colored this all on her own the other day with no assistance
Our neighbor Kasi came over to visit tonight for a few minutes
She has an adorable little boy named Bearick
He will be 6 weeks old this week
We were letting him & Emery "hang" or should i say "lay"
All she wanted to do was squeal & he just wanted to sleep!
But they were adorable
This was before nap time today
After church
and lunch
The were tired and uncooperative
Emery goes for her 6 month well child check tomorrow
Which unfortunately means shots.......
YUCK :(
Yes, tomorrow she'll be 6 mos
and I can not believe it
time is going crazy fast

Random

The weather has been beautiful this week
Causing a certain little girl to be confused
She's ready to get her pool out
and has been for well over a month now

I actually took this pic last month
It was 7 degrees...yes 7.0 DEGREES outside at the moment of this picture
She was all sorts of bent out of shape about the weather
I felt her pain
But things are looking up!
You can smell spring around the corner
And hear it too
The birds are going CRAZY
It's all i can hear in my bed starting @ 6am
I wish the birds would sleep in

Here is a pic from last Sunday
I love Sundays
This past Sunday was one of the best we have had in along time
Miss Emery was sooo happy!
Tonight we had kindergarten roundup for "Special K"
aka Kennedy
The parents filled out all sorts of paperwork in the halls while the kids went individually w/ someone into the rooms to be asked all sorts of questions and perform tasks.
K has been looking forward to this FOREVER
She walks out of the room after she was done and yells...
IT...WAS...AWESOME...!!!!!!!
I couldn't be more happy for her and proud!
Sniff Sniff!

Ok moving on.....Lent is quickly approaching for we Catholics
A lot of Lent observers "give up" something
I am thinking about giving up sweets.....
My brother's girlfriend did it last year. She has so much will power.
I just really don't know if I can do it.  It would be good for me though.

I am truly madly deeply in love w/ sugar.
And as a breastfeeding mother it's probably not the best thing for the wee one.
So I will be making a final decision soon.
If i do decide to give it up....it could be ugly
And you will be glad you don't live w/ me
But I guess that's the whole purpose of obstaining from it
Because it's sooo hard

Hope you all have a Happy Thursday tomorrow :)-
