Where is Gentry?

This is her new favorite game to play while I am unloading or loading dishes into the dishwasher. She says, "Come Find Me!" while she lays under the dishwasher door. It is all too cute. Only one problem..........she's just a little too big.

Snow Day Birthday

After working on my feet for 10+ hrs today doing hair, christmas shopping at Target, and coming home and wrapping gifts to put under the tree I have finally made it to the computer.

So please forgive me (Mother) for this post being made so very super late. But I am squeezing it in before the stroke of midnight. Today.......yes, it is still today even though it is super late..is my mom's birthday! She is celebrating the 15th anniversary of her fourty-.............well I better not go there. She might kill me. It is unimportant what the number is anyway! Today is her birthday and she celebrated it by being snowed in at home. Which I am sure was the perfect birthday gift for her! I mean who doesn't want an unplanned day off on their birthday?!!! Hopefully she got to take a nap, get caught up on house things and get some much deserved R&R.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!

50 yrs ago today.....

this lady was born!!!!!! She is a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a daughter, a sister, a friend.......and a very patient daycare provider
She figured out we weren't at the church for just pictures. We actually pulled the surprise party off. Although I am really not sure how.

The little kids swarming her as she entered her party. And in the front Miss Kylie is giving Gentry a hug. It was the cutest thing ever!

these are "just a few" of the kids that she has babysat over the years that showed up for the party

using her walker!!!!

A family pic of The Ohlde's.......Ann, Shane and Dylan

Sarah and Walleta.....another day care child....from way back. Her and Dana are the same age and her and I have become quite good friends through the computer. She traveled all the way from Pierce,NE for the party. We were so excited she came...b/c Sarah and I had never met in person!!! We had a great time.

Kennedy and Chloey....they played so hard their faces were like cherry tomatoes. Chloey is Sarah's daughter.

Kennedy holding baby Jaycee. These are two bright eyed girls!!! Kennedy is in love with her.

Jacqueline and Walleta.....they go way back to when Jacqueline was a kid. But to sum it up.....Walleta now watches Jacqueline's 3 kids. She is the principal at one of the grade school's in town!

Howard and Marilyn (her oldest brother and his wife), Harold and Charlene (her 2nd oldest brother and his wife. Charlene is taking chemo treatments and radiation for cancer she has been battling a while. She could use a prayer from you all.) Can you tell that Walleta is the "baby" of the 3 kids? Her brothers are 21 and 23 yrs older than her. She really was a surprise!!!!

This picture was taken as the party was winding down. There was probably twice this many people when she walked in the door!!!

Happy Birthday Walleta!!!! We hope you have a wonderful personal day. We love you lots and are blessed to have you in our lives.

Round 2 & 3

Well I went to my work Christmas party last night (which was wonderful), got home at 11:00, went up and kissed Kennedy b/c she was whining for me when she heard me come in the door, and 15 minutes later she started throwing up too. Oh Joy. Poor thing had to have a bath it was such a disaster. Then we did our normal chair w/ the barf bucket beside the bed, towels all over when someone is sick ritual. No actual bedding either. We just stick to blankets. That way we just roll 'em up and start the next load of wash. Easiest way to go with kids bedding when they're sick.

And then much to my utter excitement at 3:00 a.m. it was my turn. And from then til 6:00 a.m. momma prayed to the porcelain god. So far Dana has not become infected yet. We pray he doesn't. He really took care of us today. He truly is awesome. Kennedy and I pretty much stayed on the couch all day. It hurt to even stand up our bodies ached so bad and our heads were throbbing.

The "Sick Couch"

I honestly have no idea how in the world she smiled in this picture. Her dad took it and I think he told he to smile. She looked like death warmed over all day..... along w/ her mother. We are both still in our pajamas.

I also found out today that 22 of the 45 kids from the girls' daycare were out sick yesterday. So now we know where this lovely bug came from. However Gentry is doing much better and Kennedy and mommy are starting to come among the living again. I hope this post finds you all healthy. B/c I wouldn't wish this upon anyone.

Sick Day

Blue Eyes is sick today. She started throwing up after bath time last night.......perfect timing my dear child. You WERE all nice and clean.....but that's okay b/c you have thrown up and thrown up until there was nothing left in your tummy. You have thrown up at least 6 times ....And not once have you cried. You just want to be held and sleep on mommy's lap. Your sister is doing everything in her power to make you happy and make you feel better.

Mommy has her Christmas party for work tonight.......she really wants to go....please don't throw up on me before I leave........and please Lord don't let me get sick too. Or the rest of the family.

cookies

the girls made cookies w/ daddy the other night

Kennedy HAD to stick her hands in the brown sugar. I swear she gets the shakes if she doesn't stick her hands in the bowl/dough at least 5 times while making the cookies.

The Perfect Tree

Today was not a normal monday here. Dana took the day off from work. We all slept in til 8:00 this morning. Which is in record book territory for our girls. We had lots of projects planned for our day. And got the most important of them accomplished. Daddy got the x-mas lights up on the house and mommy got all of the outdoor x-mas decor out and finished. But the biggest "To Do" for the day was getting our Christmas Tree. Which for Kennedy is the epitimy of excitment. So we headed off the Pine Lake Tree Farm this afternoon and had an awesome time.

Daddy and "His Girls" walking up the big hill to the cabin.

Heading out to the fields!! The girls could have rode the hayrack for hours.

The tree farm is beautiful, the smell is nostalgic and the memories made here are forever.

Here the girls are in front of "The" tree. They were standing so still just like their mommy begged of them to do. I got the perfect picture of them w/ our tree. Don't you think? Ok..not exactly.

The girls were like frozen statues while watching the man cut our tree down.

Load'n her up! There ended up being 3 trees and 3 families that rode back on the hayrack together. It was a load!

Our tree getting the "shake down"

Gentry was in total transe mode while they shook the needles out of the tree. She really loved watching it but she was more infatuated w/ the John Deere tractor. Naturally.

Silly Sister

The sun was setting in the woods and it was time to head home with our perfect tree. Which turned into our HUGE perfect tree. It looks like Big Foot in our living room. But the girls love it...and that makes it perfect.

"Overseeing" Daddy watering the tree. Hopefully by tomorrow night it will be decorated.
