Tuesday Sweetness

Kennedy will be turing the big 4 on friday!!! Today she got to celebrate her birthday at preschool. We chose to make rainbow cupcakes for her treats. They are so easy & so cool.

Just whip up a batch of any of your favortie white cake mixes. Seperate the batter into 4 bowls. Add food coloring to each. And put a small spoon full of each color of batter into the cupcake liner. Do not mix the colors. Just let them lay on or beside each other. And bake cupcakes as directed on box. Whaaalaa!!! There you have them.

I forgot to cut one of the cupcakes in half so you could see how cool it looks. But you somewhat get the idea in this picture!

Almost There

Well this kitchen cabinet project has been a long strenuous project to say the least. But it is coming together and should be finished by the end of the week! Here is a sneak peak!!!


to say today was successful would be an understatement. it was this month's flea market day at the coliseum. i have never seen as many vendors as there were today. and i was in "junk" heaven.

so this dresser......is unbelievably cute. so cute i couldn't live w/out it. it has a mirror that goes on the top. this and the next item came home w/ me for only $50. not bad....in my opinion

Visitor!

The Farm Show has been at the Coliseum this week. Dana's sister and her husband had their booth for their seed farm again this year! Which means cousin Dylan got come play! And Aunt Ann and mommy got in some good conversation time. We enjoyed a talkative wild lunch at Wendy's. And then on to the mall for some fun play at their play area. Then cousin Dylan got to come to our house!!! These are pics of their play time at our house. They truly had to best time ever! Both girls cried when Ann and Dylan left :(



The cabinets are coming along pretty well! Can't wait to show them to you!

Dana and I are headed to the Pheasants Forever Banquet tonight. We are helping out so we get in free!!! Thanks to our friends Shari and Tony for taking on the girls for us. You guys are the greateset.

AMAZING!

Today Stellan had his heart ablation. It wasn't scheduled til tomorrow but Stellan flat lined and died today.

But today was not Stellan's time to go with the Lord! They were able to bring him back and he went straight to surgery. Stellan was not really expected to make it through his ablation. He is so small and it was so risky. But they were left w/ no choice. During his surgery one of the Dr.'s had a miraculous idea. And it worked. And it saved Stellan. His ablation was a success! And his story is amazing. It will bring you to tears. Please read it.

Kitchen Cabinets

I have always hated....."strongly disliked" our kitchen cabinets. I "strongly disliked" how all of the handles/hardware were put in the middle of the doors....uugghh. And I have always strongly disliked the horrible scaloped trim around the top of the cabinets. These things were all really cool.....WERE.....in the 70's. But our cabinets are oak......so I sure don't want to replace them. And I can't bring myself to paint them. So I figured out what to I wanted to do.

Taking doors and hardware off. And starting to remove EVERYTHING out of them. This part really takes longer than you anticipate and is not fun at all.

Here are the cabinets after being sanded. You can see Dana's utter excitement peeking through the cabinets. He seriously is the most awesome husband ever. This was MY project idea. Not his at all. He thought they were fine. But that is his outlook on every project before it is started!!! I see the "after" he can only see the "before".

This sweetheart sanded all of these cabinets for me. We only have one sander. So he did it for me. It was a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE mess. Dust everywhere. We taped up the doorways and that def. helped keep the mess contained. But still the kitchen was mass destruction. There was dust at least a 1/4 inch thick on the floor. I was in charge of cleanup! And I am doing the sanding on the doors and all of the staining and hardware. The handles will no longer be in the middle of the doors!!! And the stain is going to look a lot different. But it's taking time.

Stay tuned for the finished product. I am sooo excited! But it's been a ton of work.

One Year Ago

These pictures were taken one year ago. These are some of my favorite pictures of Kennedy. She LOVES the leaves. And I love her face in these pictures. I remember that afternoon as if it were literally yesterday. Her sister was napping, I was snapping (the camera), and she was laughing laughing laughing. I will treasure the memory of that leafy afternoon with her forever.

A Piece of Pie

I was in the grochery store this morning
All through the fruit department Granny Smith was screaming my name
So I snatched up some of her lucious produce and we made a date
