Colorado Part 1

Well we returned home from the San Isabel National Forest tues. evening. The trip seriously went way too fast. The girls, however, were ready to be home. The trip out took 12hrs & only 11hrs on the way home. They did awesome in the car. Could not have begged for them to be any better. Gentry ended up getting a major cold and more teething the day before we left. So we dealt with breathing treatments, a raw, runny, bloody nose and diapers I won't even speak of. But even through that she was a trooper. Kennedy maintained grouch mode very well the first two days and then started to come out of her shell the last two just in time to enjoy it a little bit. Here are just a few pics to get you started............

Good Morning Colorado air!

Gentry digging in the rocks and dirt. She loved this and so did her sis. However my washing machine is currently screaming "NO".

Humming birds fly rampid out there. They dive bomb you if you wear bright colors.

This mountain was behind our camp. And that my fellow bloggers is the big dipper. We got to see this almost every night. And it was breath takingly awesome.

We did some mountain driving and drove over some passes. The views are unbelievable. You know only God could have created something that is so ominous yet beautiful at the same time.
If Dana didn't have his eyes closed in this picture it would be a perfect one of these two.

Gentry didn't make it in this picture. She was sleeping in the explorer. And she didn't get much sleep on this trip (along w/ her sister) so any shut eye was well treasured.

This picture could have been really good. Except for my hair......in Dana's face. Should have tied it back! Although it is kind of funny.

These are our campers. There were actually four, you just cant see them all in the pic. And these mountains were what we got to look at everyday from our campsite.

The river water by our camp is snow run off so obviously it is ice cold. I couldn't even keep my hand in for 10 seconds. My daughter however seemed to not notice the water temp. She was even sticking her head in it.

6 hrs til we check out!

It's late....really late, considering we are leaving in 6 hrs. Just wanted to let you all know we are headed west to see these......

and this is what our babies looked like last year when we were there. Awww...they are so little, and cute, and snuggly. My babies are growing waaaay too fast.

County Fair

We were able to make it to the Clay County fair last weekend. The evening was perfect. The kids had a great time (that's an understatement), the weather was wonderful and caught up w/ lots of people we hadn't got to see in a while. Here is a glimpse at our evening!

Grandpa Dana could be found here, on this, with these two, at any time. He was such a sport!

The Big Slide. I think there was seriously a hundred steps. And this is one of few times she "let" me go down w/ her. She did it on her own the rest of the time. Keep in mind she is only 3......and that slide was HUGE. She would climb it all her own. And the kind worker at the top would help her get on her sack.

She DID NOT want to go on this "Allergater" rollercoaster. But grandma talked her into it. And as you can see she ended up being quite fond of this ride. She laughed the whole time.

These three had the greatest time. Who ever designed this ride knew what they were doing when the gave them all a steering wheel!

Kennedy had been asking all week if she could ride "that big wheel". How in the world she knew that the Farris Wheel would be there I do not know. She has never rode one before. But it was the first thing we HAD to do. AGAIN and again. She loved it.

Mommy got off the Farris Wheel but Kennedy wanted to keep going. So daddy stayed on with her for one more round.

Isn't the sky beautiful. When you are up so high on the Faris Wheel and can see the tops of all the trees everything suddenly seems a little ominous.

Weston is the little cutie up front w/ the adoooorable smile. And as for Kennedy........I think she liked riding w/ 3 boys!

Special Guy

Today is this little man's big day. Happy Birthday D.M.O!!!!

Today is Dylan's 2nd birthday! He is our only nephew, and we have no nieces....so he's a pretty special guy. Especially to Kennedy and Gentry. He is their only cuz! Last night was his big birthday party and we had a wonderful time.

Dylan is a huge fan of Blue's Clues. This is the cake his mommy & grandma made. Isn't it awesome!

Dana's Grandma Sue has a pretty awesome Harley Davidson trike motorcycle. She rode it out to Dylan's party and as you can see Gentry also thinks it is pretty cool!

Pool Palooza

Kennedy and Lane think this is the most fun thing ever. Make sure you watch the whole video. Kennedy's head takes quite the beating on the pool each time!

Just Smile

I hope you find this picture below funny. I know I sure did. Yes, it is stupid....BUT I had to post it. This is what greeted me on my kitchen sink this morning...before "I" ever ran any water. If an unexpected smile greets you in places you could never imagine you know it's going to be a good day.


Well, onto swimming lessons. Kennedy completed level 1 Red Cross Swimming Lessons last friday. She had them for two weeks and loved every minute of it. Here a few pics I got one day.

Thinking about it...but not for long. She lives for the moment.

Gentry got to enjoy the baby pool everyday while "sis" was taking lessons in the big pool. That's one of the perks about living in a really small town. You can get away with stuff like this!

Fun Pool Toy

I got this idea out of one of my family magazines. Made it for the girls to use in the pool and they LOVE it. The sponges soak up all of the water so they can throw them at each other.....but don't hurt b/c they are so soft!

**Supplies needed.
Scissors, kitchen sponges, and string (I only had floral wire and it worked great too)

Pieces are cut. You will leave out one sponge that comes in the pkg.

Pieces are cut and "strategically" placed with wire/string underneath. Just pull string tightly around all the sponges a couple of times and tie a few knots.

Spread sponges out and you have the Fishished Product!
