56 Years!

Happy Birthday Dad!!! I Love You Lots!!!

Today is my dad's 56th birthday! Here is a picture of him and my uncle and aunts as kids. My dad is the ornery looking younger boy. You can see the fire in his eyes. I just love this picture. Mostly b/c I now understand what my grandmother must have been going through. Only I have two and she had four. She must be a saint...or she just drank a lot! NO....she didn't. She is a classy woman. And back then you could beat your child w/ a switch and nobody called SRS. That is the difference between 50 years ago and today. Not that she would have beaten her kids w/ a switch either. She probably just had lots of patience.

I just love the boys' bow ties and love love love the girls' hair. Good job Grandma!

Omaha Zoo Part 2

So here is the next round of pics from our Omaha wkend.

There were mirrors on the ceiling before going into the IMAX movie. Kennedy thought they were super great.

We watched an IMAX movie. Here is a shot of Shane Ann and Dylan w/ their 3d glasses on. Kennedy was a total hoot. She was reaching out to grab stuff. She thought it was so real! But she quickly ripped the glasses off w/ no return when the snakes came swimming at us. They seriously looked like they were going to get us and she wasn't having any part of it.

Jason and Kara riding in front of us on the skyscape. It was really neat if you aren't afraid of heights!

The Butterfly Exhibit. My second favorite. Too cool.

Gentry and her Grandpa Dana

I think this was really one of Kennedy's favortie things. The Butterfly Bench.

Dana's uncle Kelvin came w/ us too! He is home visiting from VA for about a month to be w/ Grandma Betty during some of her chemo treatments. It was great having him along. And the girls just love him!

Kara and Jason

Can they ever act mature? This "pick Ann up for the picture thing" has been going on for over 10 years now!

Dana, Ann and Jason.......the serious side. Although I am pretty sure there was butt slapping going on in this pic.....so not really seious.

One of many beeeautiufl roses on the bush.

This bird/parrot is beautiful.......but dumb..and annoying. He screeched so loud ya about went deaf, and he never stopped.

Sweet little "Deemo" as Uncle Dana calls him....b/c Uncle Dana is a smart butt. Dylan's initials are D.M.O.

Okay so I really don't remember what kind of monkey lived in/on this cool tree looking thing but their home is awesome!

Dylan and Kennedy taking a cookie break.

Stay tuned for part 3! Hotel pool pics!

Omaha Zoo Part 1

This past weekend we went to the Omaha Zoo with all of Dana's family to celebrate his parents 30th wedding anniversary. Here is just a "few" of the pics.

The kids belted in and ready to hit the road!

Check out the teeth on this little cutie!

Dylan taking a "munch"break

The "real" monkeys!

Ann, Kennedy and Daddy

The birds were my favorite. It was awesome. You could walk in this netted dome just filled with all these bright beautiful brilliant birds. I wish these birds were in my back yard! But I can't complain b/c right now I have both male & female cardinals and fenches feeding out my kitchen window!

Ya know how when you go to the state fair you can get anything on a stick??? Well now ya can @ the zoo too! Bird seed on a stick........for the birds of course! Who would have thought?

Gentry "attempting" to feed the poor bird. Instead she ended up "trying" to feed the wrong end. She goosed him and he flew off!

Their colors were truly amazing.

Kennedy peaking above the water to get a look at the polar bear.

Our Nephew Dylan with his Grandma Walleta.

LIONS, TIGERS AND BEARS.......OH MY!

The whole crew posing for a pic right before lunch.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of the Omaha Zoo!

Sedgwick Co. Zoo

Well we went to Sedgwick Co. Zoo today. It was perfect! PERFECT weather, hardly any people and the girls were GREAT!

When we first made it in to the petting zoo they were both a little hesitant. By the end Kennedy was strangling the babies w/ hugs and Gentry was chasing them. But when we tried to leave, one of the bigger sheep decided she was coming w/ us and tried to make her "break" as we were squeezing out of the gate. Gentry got trampled. She pulled through it okay though!

This is the guilty one who trampled my poor girl! But we went on to another part of the petting zoo and she wasn't even scared.

Baby lamb trying to eat Gentry's hair. Gentry didn't even care. She just laughed!

Checking out the baby lamb.

Gentry thought he was great.....he on the other hand did not have the same feeling about her.

Mr. "Joe Cool" aka "Da Camel"

The baby kept chewing on the straps on our stroller. She was soooo cute!

Kennedy feeding the geese.

The adorable giraffes and of course the baby!

HIPPOS!

This is Gentry's new.......old favorite thing to do. It used to be the kleenexes. Now it's the toilet paper. 3 BATHROOMS w/ 3 rolls of TP. I suppose I should just take them off of the holder.

Gentry Girl in Sissy's bed post bath.

It got pretty warm here yesterday so the girls and Lane enjoyed some more pool time.

This snake made its appearance right by Kennedy's feet in the front yard yesterday. He WAS at least a 3.5 ft bull snake. We knew he was around b/c we found his skin a wk ago in our back yard. Kennedy was pretty shook up. Mamma used the garden hoe on him and he got shipped off in the trash truck.
