What we came home with!

So, this past weekend we came home with more than we bargained for.......in more than one way!!!

This is what happens when your children are loved by so many people......at Easter!!!
Seriously, this is ALL from Easter weekend. We are thinking about setting up a candy store out in the front yard!

Dana shot his turkey sunday morning near Riley. It weighed 25lbs with 1.25in spurs, and a little over a 10in. beard. All of the leg work for this turkey goes to his dad and his friend/coworker "Marble" who spent 3 days luring this thing in. So Dana hunted for 30 mintues sunday morning and got him! He was obviously thrilled with its size and pretty much everything else. It's a nice one! Thanks Big "D" and Dave.

The "F" word!

R U serious??? Did you really think I was talking about THAT "F" word??? Come on, there's children around here! No, my fellow bloggers, I am talking about the dreaded medical "f" word.....the "flu". Kennedy had pre school this morning. She woke up pretty grouchy. Which isn't always out of the norm for her. So mamma didn't think much of it. I should've know something was up when she didn't eat breakfast. So when I went to pick her up from school I actually got there a little early. And upon my arrival I walk into her cute little school to find everyone on their name spot w/ jackets and backpacks ready to go. But where was my sweet child??? Purging into the trash can while her sweet sweet teacher held her hair. The kids of course started telling me she was sick before I even saw what was happening.

Good news though. It might be a short lived sickness. She came home and did about an hour recovery on the couch w/ strawberry shortcake on TV. And then she was up and played outside for about an hour, ate some lunch and is now napping. So lets hope this won't stick around! Here is a picture of my sickly baby.

Atlanta

Okay, So I am majorly overdue on updating here, so I am going to start with our Atlanta trip.

We had a great time! It was so nice to have some time to ourselves. We ate some great food. But most importantly we toured the Georgia Aquarium and The Coca Cola Factory. The weather wasn't the greatest while we were there. But compared to the KS wind that we missed while were gone it wasn't so bad.

We took pics with our little camera. Which died 10 min into the aquarium. So some of the pics are from Dana's phone. So, I apologize for the poor quality.

Atlanta So Far

Well, we are still here in Atlanta. It has been a great time so far. We will fly home later tomorrow evening. We have made it to the aquarium, Coca Cola factory, Maggiano's (an awesome Italian restaurant downtown) and lots of other sight seeing. We brought the pocket camera along for fear of losing the big camera on the plane or getting it stolen. And wouldn't you know that about 10 minutes in to the aquarium the P.O.S. dies on us. So we did get a few pics but most of them will be off of our phones so the quality will stink. I will post them as soon as we get settled in back at home.

We literally made our plane on saturday by SECONDS. We had some poor time planning and thank God our airport is small and nothing like Atlanta's. We punched our info into the computer upon arrival at the airport. Mine printed out my pass and Dana's said he was too late. So the lovely desk lady printed off his boarding pass and we RAN to our gate. That's when Dana discovered he dropped his coat somewhere in between and had to run back to find it while they searched my bag and confiscated my 15 oz new can of Big Sexy Hair Spray. AAAArrrrrgggg!!! Ya just don't mess w/ a hairdressers hairspray! So Dana made it back with coat in hand. They scanned him and we ran outside and up the steps into our small (yikes!) plane. They then shut the door directly behind us and the captain came on with his directions. We LITERALLY barely made it.

Hope all of our followers are fairing during the wind back in KS. It's actually been windy here too. Or what they call "windy" (25-30 mph wind) They have trees snapping all over the place here from this so called "wind". It's really kind of funny to a KS farm girl. City Slickers. Motorcycle Mania and a little more

Dana recently painted his uncles motorcycle for him. He spent many (25 plus) tedious hrs on this thing. I thought it looked pretty darn good when it was finished! Especially taking in to consideration the last thing he painted was his mailbox in school at WyoTec. NO, not the mailbox at his apartment. It was an actual school project where they all painted mailboxes!





Thought I would also add a few things about my week. I've been quickly burning through money the last week, and truly have nothing to show for it, besides a ruined tire and a ticket. Neither incident related. Dana put 4 new NICE tires on the Explorer a week ago tues. And last weekend I so perfectly ran over a tire valve stem on the highway, and punctured the tire all the way through. I pulled over right away knowing that I had a flat. I found out later what it was that went into my tire. After all I never saw a thing on the road. Probably b/c it would have been impossible to see a stinkin valve stem. Anyway, it ruined my $150 tire. So, we had to replace it w/ a nice new tire that of course matched the old one.

Then.......on Dana's birthday I went to pick him up from work so we could go out for lunch. I whipped a U-turn where there was clearly a NO U-turn sign posted. 10 minutes and a $86 ticket later I was on my way. Da*# It!!!

But on a lighter note. Tomorrow Dana and I are flying to Atlanta, GA! He has a two day training class on Mon. and Tues. so we decided I would go with and we would leave a couple of days early. We are hoping to hit up their awesome aquarium and have some quality quiet time enjoying each others conversation for a few short days. I will be posting pics soon of our trip!!

Oh, and we stocked the fridge for the girls, bought some new DVD's and wrote down our numbers. They're growing so quickly we'll figure they'll be fine...............But since SRS would probably be swinging by our house I "talked" my parents in to watching the girls for us. I am not sure who is more excited, the girls or my parents!

27 Years Young!

Well today was D.J.'s (Dana Junior) birthday. Yes, he was almost a fool. Too bad he missed it by one day. I am sure his mom wasn't disappointed. (Happy Birthday tomorrow to my cousin Lisa who was actually born on April Fool's day 30 some odd years ago!) Hard to believe I started dating this man when he was only 17! We were pups.

Dana's present from us was two tickets to the Rodney Carington and Jeff Foxworthy comedy show coming in May. Now he has to choose who he wants to take with him!

Crazy Days

Well to say things have been crazy here the last 4 days would be an understatement. Dana headed to the sand dunes in Wynoka, OK with a bunch of guys (25) for a long planned bachelor party on friday. Yes, they did drive through a blizzard to get there. Wynoka's official reported snow fall was 24 inches!!! They all made it back safely late last night and had a wonderful time. The snow started melting quickly on sat. when the sun came out so they did actually get to see the sand.

So that left the girls and I facing the bad weather. Which included lots of ice and sleet, thunder snow, and unpredictable electricity. We lost it several times but never for more than a couple hours at a time thankfully! Kennedy loved it to say the least. She has an internal barometer and any time the weather gets crazy she does too! WILD CRAZY! So she got to burn some energy out in the snow.

On Sunday we made it to my cousin Taylor's 12th birthday party. It was a great time and the girls loved getting to see Taylor. So here's a bunch of pics to recap our weekend.
